About Me

Why would a retired teacher, coach and consultant start a new blog at the age of 70?  My friends and family think I’m nuts but to me, it’s very simple.   I have a passion for learning something new every day and frankly, I’m not ready to stop teaching.  Teaching takes preparation and I’m going to be here to help you.  Line-Up Learning is a website dedicated to providing teachers like you, a place where you can always find some research-based ideas that you can implement in your classroom tomorrow along with some of my Teachers Pay Teachers products that might just make your life easier.

In my life as a teacher, many opportunities have come my way.  In addition to teaching in various K-5 classrooms, I had the opportunity to train and become a national consultant for AIMS Education and I delivered week long Math and Science hands-on workshops every summer.  The best experience came as a result of writing a grant that named our school a NASA Explorer School.  Our school actually spoke with the astronauts on the International Space Station using video conferencing equipment from our gym with the entire school community present.  Talk about a life-changing event!

Here are a few photos of my classroom days. I loved keeping things active and carpet time is one of my favorite times of the day. The photo to the left is from one of our class trips.

After retiring, opportunity knocked on my door again, with consulting jobs with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and Pearson Education.  I have met and attended workshops provided by John Hattie, Eric Jensen, and Isabel Beck to name a few.  I have learned from the best!

Save me from endless days of lunches and shopping.  Why not take a chance and join me on this journey?  What do you have to lose?
